Ocho Rios businessman Mark Pai is leading by example after donating a cheque for $300,000 to Westwood High School to help in that school’s rebuilding process.
A section of the all-girls institution, located in Stewart Town, Trelawny, was destroyed by fire in May 2017, leaving damage estimated at millions of dollars.
Pai, who operates the Blingers store located on Evelyn Street in Ocho Rios, has a daughter attending the institution and it was she who encouraged him to assist the school.
So, through Blingers’ Build Our Children’s Hope Foundation, Pai went ahead and handed over the cheque to school principal Karen Francis, who was grateful for the support.
It didn’t end there.
The 96 children at Jacob’s Ladder, a Mustard Seed community in Haddon, near Moneague, St Ann, also benefited from Blingers Foundation recently.
Pai’s dad and brother were celebrating birthdays in the same week and instead of accepting gifts, they were the ones to give.
The brought food supplies, asked the staff at the institution to prepare the meals and the entire team from Blingers spent the day serving the residents and socialising with them.
