Melvin Geo Wright’s Kloude9ine Entertainment will present Chase The Cure, a cancer awareness and benefit concert on Heroes Sunday, October 14, at Turtle River Park in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
The show will be headlined by Sizzla Kolonji with a supporting team of Tommy Lee Sparta, Macka Diamond, Lybran and Spotlight. The Jamaica Cancer Society will benefit with proceeds from the event, the promoter has stated.
Wright’s decision to stage the event to help in the fight against cancer comes against the backdrop of two of his relatives, a sister and an uncle, being diagnosed with the dreaded disease.
Prior to this event, Wright had been involved in charity programmes in his birth parish of Trelawny where he staged the Trelawny Agri-Cultural Festival at the Albert Town High School.
Over time he has made several donations to medical centres and the police in Southern Trelawny, inclusive of blood pressure machines, laser thermometers, coffee machines and other items.
Benefits from the Chase The Cure concert is expected to have more of a far-reaching effect, though, as it will help the efforts of the Jamaica Cancer Society in implementing programmes to help people throughout the island who have been stricken by cancer.
